The Polish Damper & Ah Old Timers!

Marcin Gortat had a small break out year being Dwight’s back-up center last season. He helped to win three road games in the West when Dwight was out with a minor injury, and he stepped up against Philadelphia in the first round of the playoffs, when Dwight was suspended. He then got a lucrative offer from the Dallas Mavericks of about 34 million dollars in 5 years. He was going to get the starting center role and join the other White and Blue team.

Gortat then received news that was both positive and negative, when the Magic decided to match the Dallas Mavericks offering. He was thrilled to be back on a team that could go back to the finals, and he says that he “loves the (Magic) organization” (Hoopshype). There is a problem though, and he feels that he needs to step out of the large shadow cast by Howard. He feels that he can contribute to another team more than the Magic. He is upset because he only gets to play about 5 minutes in most games.

This is understandable, and if Gortat went to Dallas he would probably be the in the top three center choices for an All-Star position, alongside Bynum (Lakers), and Nene (Denver). I feel for Gortat, but bringing this out now, when only a quarter of the season has been played, and the Magic are finding their groove is not good. He says that he wants to speak with Grumpy Stan over the summer, and wants his agent to get him traded possibly.

If Gortat leaves, will he be another great player the Magic let go because they could not satisfy him better. Will he join the ranks of Ben Wallace, Chris Webber, Shaq, and many others that left the Magic because they were not satisfied?.

The positive thing is that Gortat is in it for the game, and not the money. LeBron (CRYBABY) you may want to pay attention to what you’re a truly playing for.

The CELTICS and SPURS was a match made at a nursing home. These teams were not too exciting at all last night. The Celtics dominanted, and any time the East plays the West, you always have to go with the East. There were no amazing stats really from any player. It was a defensive minded game. The game was more defensive because they have not invented WD-40 for the old joint on both teams.

The game was satisfying because the Celtics once again showed how they won a championship two years ago. WOW only two years, time does fly. They never really blew out teams like the Denver Nuggets do, but they always grinded it out and pulled out the win defensively, which is the making of a championship team.

Rondo has got to get some props for his game play, but the mouth on this kid needs to be shut up. Why doesn’t Garnett yell at him and make him cry on the bench, Big Baby Glen Davis.
