POW! & The Blah Van Gundy

Pau Gasol coming back made the Lakers a little more dominant again as a team. The Lakers bench is very dissappointing this season, and prior to Gasol’s return, the Lakers winning or losing went with how Kobe was playing that night. Pau has brought back the great pick and roll game. The Lakers are the team that I most despise after LeBron James (CRYBABY). I have to give them credit with Bynum having solid performences, Pau returning, and Kobe being Kobe. The only vunerablility that they have is their point guard situation. Jordan Farmer did not turn out to be the Lakers future solid point guard,a nd Derek Fisher is really getting up in age. The Lakers get displacent when it comes to games, and who can blame them when they are so good. This will bite them back because it looks like the Denver Nuggets and Carmelo seem to be very serious about being top dog in the West. The Lakers got their POW back because of Pau’s return.

Vince Carter is a good but he doesn’t seem to be geling with the Magic too well. He cant seem to get the pick and roll right, or the pick and pop right, and that is what the Dwight Howard and the Magic’s three point shooters live on. He takes too many fade away jumpers when all he needs to do is a regular old fashioned jumper. The fading away part causes for an unblanced shot to be taken, and yeah it looks great if it goes in, but that happens rarely. Dwight’s numbers are down across the board, and he needs to start demanding the ball more from his team because he is what the team is built around. Dwight told Van Gundy that his tough loove and negative speaking is not helping the five new players on the Magic, but who wants Van Gundy to stop that? If Van Gundy stops tha then he just becomes a non-professionally dressed, unenthusiatic, short, slightly balding coach. Van Gundy’s negative speaking, and saying everyone  "SUCKED” is what makes him so likeable. He is one of those rare individuals that should be hated, but what should be hated is so entertatining that many like him. The Magic are on a 3 games winning streak after he decided to stop with the negativiity and be more constructive, but lets see how long before it boils over. That will make for a great show, and maybe will scare Vince into taking good percentage shots. The game against Boston was too close for comfort, and I was surprised Van Gundy didn’t boil over then because the Magic lost a double digit lead.

There It Is & Here I Go!
