The Big Ouch and Nets Record Breaking Almost!

The Orlando Magic and Miami Heat game was a very exciting one. Being there live was something indescribable. The atmosphere was so intense, and home crowd, although very quiet through the first three quarters, really gave the Magic support in the fourth quarter. Everything went fine for the Magic until, Dwayne Wade missed a shot and Michael Beasley had a dunk with 1.6 seconds left in the game. THIS IS THE NBA, AND THIS WAS A WOW MOMMENT. The game didn’t not finish without controversy, because some say Beasley was goaltending, while the referees saw it in favor of Miami. The game was great, and in the end Miami needed this victory to get out of there skid. Magic are now 5 -1 since Grumpy Stan stopped being grumpy, and I doubt he will be too nice after this loss. The Magic didn’t need this win as much, but it would have put them atop the East. They are now tied with Boston for second, and Atlanta is the top dog in the East. The Magic made big mistakes. Vince did great at the end but during the game, maybe he should stop with the fade always, and the Magic’s pick and roll is still terrible. They got complacent and it contrasts their attitude last season. Grumpy Stan was right when he said the passion that they had last season doesn’t seem to be there as much this season. It is not Grumpy Stan’s negativity. I believe it was because so many doubted us, and this year the Atlanta Hawks have that role to play. Tonight the Magic will be a test for Atlanta.

The Nets are close to breaking a record. It is so exciting that they are only two losses away from becoming the team that started the season 0-17. This team has great pieces in Devin Harris, Brook Lopez, and Courtney Lee. I don’t know why they are not winning any games, but it really hurts their image and chances of trying to grab a LeBron, Dwayne, or Bosh. Injuries have been a problem, but Lopez put up 32 points last night for the Nets and they still could not pull out a victory. They have already tied with the Miami Heat’s worst record form two years ago, being 0-15. I really hope they can pull out a win on this three game road trip to the West teams, but it doesn’t look likely. Things do happen, like Miami defeating the Orlando Magic.

POW! & The Blah Van Gundy

Pau Gasol coming back made the Lakers a little more dominant again as a team. The Lakers bench is very dissappointing this season, and prior to Gasol’s return, the Lakers winning or losing went with how Kobe was playing that night. Pau has brought back the great pick and roll game. The Lakers are the team that I most despise after LeBron James (CRYBABY). I have to give them credit with Bynum having solid performences, Pau returning, and Kobe being Kobe. The only vunerablility that they have is their point guard situation. Jordan Farmer did not turn out to be the Lakers future solid point guard,a nd Derek Fisher is really getting up in age. The Lakers get displacent when it comes to games, and who can blame them when they are so good. This will bite them back because it looks like the Denver Nuggets and Carmelo seem to be very serious about being top dog in the West. The Lakers got their POW back because of Pau’s return.

Vince Carter is a good but he doesn’t seem to be geling with the Magic too well. He cant seem to get the pick and roll right, or the pick and pop right, and that is what the Dwight Howard and the Magic’s three point shooters live on. He takes too many fade away jumpers when all he needs to do is a regular old fashioned jumper. The fading away part causes for an unblanced shot to be taken, and yeah it looks great if it goes in, but that happens rarely. Dwight’s numbers are down across the board, and he needs to start demanding the ball more from his team because he is what the team is built around. Dwight told Van Gundy that his tough loove and negative speaking is not helping the five new players on the Magic, but who wants Van Gundy to stop that? If Van Gundy stops tha then he just becomes a non-professionally dressed, unenthusiatic, short, slightly balding coach. Van Gundy’s negative speaking, and saying everyone  "SUCKED” is what makes him so likeable. He is one of those rare individuals that should be hated, but what should be hated is so entertatining that many like him. The Magic are on a 3 games winning streak after he decided to stop with the negativiity and be more constructive, but lets see how long before it boils over. That will make for a great show, and maybe will scare Vince into taking good percentage shots. The game against Boston was too close for comfort, and I was surprised Van Gundy didn’t boil over then because the Magic lost a double digit lead.

Weak Knees and Flying Hawks

Jameer is GONE due to torn cartilage in his knee. NOT good news for the Magic, but Jason Williams did a phenomenal job keeping the Magic afloat by helping 6 Magic players have double digit points. It should be no surprise because he has proven he can be a starting point guard, not to mention on a championship team. AJ did a good job sustaining the great start Williams started, BUT rumors are flying that Orlando is looking for appoint guard. Antonia Daniels is the candidate. BAD IDEA ORLANDO MANAGEMENT! Learn from your mistakes. Alston was brought in, and then bumped to the bench, and AJ didn’t even get to play when the 2009 Finals came around. It caused locker room problems and the chemistry that the team built through tough game series against Boston, Cleveland, and Philadelphia was shot down. ORLANDO DOESN’T NEED ANOTHER POINT GUARD!!!

It looks like the toughest division in the NBA will be the Southeast Division. Atlanta being the top dog in the East, Orlando being a contender, Washington showing they can come back when they are healthy, and Miami off to great early start. Miami may trickle off because they only do as good as Dwayne Wade does. Atlanta took flight this season, and Josh Smith has been a huge factor. He is averaging a double-double, he has taken no three’s, averaging 2.5 blocks per game, and about 2 steals a game. Al Horford has turned out to be a great center that can run Coast to Coast better than many guards in the league. Joe Johnson is their fourth quarter guy, and Mike Bibby is their vetern. Smith’s maturity has made the Hawks a factor, but still only 3000 people attending a game vs Portland. WAKE UP ATLANTA, YOUR TEAM SEEMS TO BE A CONTENDER. Let’s see if this flights of the Hawks hit some road blocks.

Introduction

Expression is something that describes every individual. It is hard to contain or mask. I am very expressive about basketball and the NBA. I am a basketball fanatic, and the passion that I have for the game is so strong that many people close to me instinctively know that most of my casual conversations consists of the sport in some aspect. The internet has empowered expression past any level thought of before.
The NBA is a fast paced game that spreads to far ends of the dramatic spectrum. It ranges from legal issues off the court to small issues of eating a pizza before a game (Hedo). These issues bring a variety of aspects that make the game enjoyable. Many will never forget the circus shots that Dwayne Wade made in the 2006 Finals, to get him a championship after being down 2-0. Many won’t forget the one second shot LeBron made in the 2009 Playoffs. The game is more exciting than ever with Dwight, Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Chris Paul, the rising star of Brandon Jennings, and so many other potential Hall of Famers.
